![]() The perk, weapon and character system has a lot of variety to it, with a surprising amount of unlockable content and stat progression. What follows isn't a review but meant to be constructive criticism on the design of the game, as the negatives are few but I believe the formula has a lot of potential that wasn't properly utilized here. If you're looking for a fast paced FPS roguelite, this is among the best of the bunch and a great improvement over the original. This game is well worth your money, it's well produced with no bugs in sight, the performance is fantastic, and it runs flawlessly out of the box on Linux (and probably the Steam Deck). The community enjoys this game, and they explain why if you take the time to read. I've found that most of the reviews are pretty accurate. ![]() You, the wizard, move pretty fast, but the mobs often lob exploding crap at you, or they explode upon death - so you have to aim well and quickly. The mobs predict where you're going to run to when lobbing stuff at you, so you HAVE to move unpredictably. Playing at the Novice level of difficulty (of which there are 4 or maybe 5?), I died a bunch not gonna lie. I'm pretty scrubtastic, too, as I find myself getting beaten up often. Honestly, this game is a lot more fun than I expected. ![]() Mastery unlocks abilities and passive bonuses, so over time, the wizards actually DO become more powerful to some extent. Mastery sticks around after the quest is over, but not levels XP. As for progression, the wizards accrue "mastery" as they complete quests - which is different from the levels gained from XP. This is why unlocks make the game more interesting. You use them in the dungeon, and then you start over during the next dungeon/quest, and have to find them again. The roguelite aspect is that these usable weapons (wands, staves, spells and alchemy) your wizard finds in the dungeon are only RNGed from the pool of items you've unlocked. During this, you gain XP and mana (different colors for the different types of weapons you're using), health potions and money you can use to occasionally buy new things at vendors in the dungeon. find 3 pieces of a key to open a room containing treasure, hit colored buttons in the right sequence which stops monsters from spawning endlessly, etc). You enter the dungeon or whatever environment this is to take place in, and you set about killing stuff and solving easy puzzles (ie. The unlocks provide your new guild with weapons (aka.
